Purdue College of Engineering event recognizes ChE Faculty External Awards

Purdue University Chemical Engineering faculty were recognized by the College of Engineering for their external awards at an event held in their honor on December 5, 2018. Chemical Engineering faculty honorees were Dr. Rakesh Agrawal, Dr. Rajamani Gounder, Dr. Zoltan Nagy, Dr. R. Byron Pipes, Dr. Gintaras Reklaitis, and Dr. Arvind Varma.

Dr. Rakesh Agrawal

Winthrop E. Stone Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering

American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Alpha Chi Sigma Award for Chemical Engineering Research, recognizes an individual researcher's outstanding accomplishments in fundamental or applied chemical engineering research.

 

Dr. Rajamani Gounder

Larry and Virginia Faith Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering
 
Department of Energy Early Career Research Program funding supports the development of individual research programs of outstanding scientists early in their careers.
 
American Institute of Chemical Engineers 35 Under 35 Award honors 35 notable young professionals under the age of 35 based on achievements in seven categories: bioengineering, chemicals, energy, innovation, education, leadership, and safety.
 
2018 Sloan Research Fellowship, a distinction given to early-career scholars who are recognized by the Sloan Foundation as the next generation of scientific leaders.

Dr. Arvind Varma

R. Games Slayter Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering
 
2018 American Society for Engineering Education Benjamin Garver Lamme Award, recognizes a distinguished engineering educator for contributions to the art of teaching, contributions to research and technical literature and achievements that contribute to the advancement of the profession of engineering college administration.
