Biography
Dr. Cosgrove received his BS in Chemical Engineering and PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Biopharmaceutics from Purdue. As a Senior Engineer in the Biomedical Engineering Group at Southern Research Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, he was responsible for a variety of animal studies and engineering projects. Following that he was Director, Exploratory Product Design, involving a wide variety of Novel Drug Delivery Systems, for Ayerst Labs, now part of Pfizer. Then, he was VP of Pharmacontrol Corporation, which became a public company on NASDAQ, developing automatic devices for ICU administration of critical drugs, laboratory testing equipment for the pharmaceutical R&D and transdermal drug delivery systems. After Medical School at the University of Miami and Anesthesiology Residency at Stanford, he co-founded Pharmasystems Corp, which involved the same development goals as Pharmacontrol. Cosgrove then founded Piedmont Surgical Center an ambulatory surgical center in Greensboro, NC, where he served as Medical Director and Chief of Anesthesiology. Among his hobbies are Astronomy and Cosmology. He resides near Myrtle Beach, SC and travels extensively.
