A select group of Purdue University Faculty Scholars whose work advances the life sciences are chosen to hold the title of Showalter Faculty Scholar. The distinction, supported by the Ralph W. and Grace M. Showalter Trust, recognizes exceptional faculty whose research and scholarship are shaping the future of their fields.

Linnes will hold the appointment through 2030, joining an elite group of Purdue researchers recognized for excellence and impact across teaching, research and engagement.

As a faculty member in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, Linnes has built an internationally recognized research program focused on developing accessible diagnostic technologies that improve healthcare delivery around the world. Her work combines engineering, medicine and global health to create practical solutions for pressing healthcare challenges, particularly in resource-limited settings.

The Showalter Faculty Scholar designation reflects Purdue's confidence in Linnes' continued leadership and innovation in the life sciences. As a University Faculty Scholar, she represents the next generation of researchers whose discoveries and collaborations will drive new advances in human health.
