Biomedical Engineering Student Receives Purdue's Golden Hammer Trailblazer Award
Presented during the annual Golden Hammer Awards ceremony at Indianapolis Union Station, the Trailblazer Award recognizes students who create new opportunities, challenge the status quo and inspire meaningful change within the Purdue community. Only two students from each Purdue college receive the honor.
For Mukadam, the recognition reflects a commitment to leadership, service and building community alongside academic achievement.
"I’m grateful to the faculty and staff who have guided and challenged me, the friends and peers who constantly inspire me to grow, and my family for their support in every step of this journey," Mukadam shared. "This recognition is a reminder of the responsibility to continue leading with purpose, uplifting others and contributing to the communities I’m part of."
Established in 2025, the Golden Hammer Awards celebrate Purdue students in Indianapolis whose impact extends beyond the classroom through leadership, innovation, engagement and service. The Trailblazer Award specifically honors students who have paved new paths for others and helped shape the future of Purdue's Indianapolis community.
Mukadam's recognition highlights the growing influence of biomedical engineering students who are contributing to Purdue's expanding presence in Indianapolis while preparing to improve human health through engineering innovation.
