Joey Wallace Featured in Micro Photonics Researcher Spotlight

Joey Wallace, Associate Vice President for Research and Development, Purdue University in Indianapolis and professor in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University
Joey Wallace, Associate Vice President for Research and Development, Purdue University in Indianapolis and professor in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University, was recently highlighted in the Researcher Spotlight series by Micro Photonics Inc., a leader in high-resolution imaging technologies.

Wallace’s research focuses on understanding how bone quality changes with disease, injury and aging. In the spotlight, he discusses how micro-CT and DEXA technologies from Micro Photonics are essential to his lab’s work in evaluating bone structure and mineral density in preclinical models.

“These tools allow us to non-destructively assess bone in three dimensions,” Wallace explains. “The ability to visualize internal microarchitecture and quantify it with high precision helps us better understand how skeletal tissues respond to different biological and mechanical challenges.”

Wallace’s feature underscores the importance of advanced imaging in biomedical research and highlights Purdue’s commitment to using cutting-edge technologies to improve health outcomes.
