Engineering Dreams: Louis Lee Receives Honorable Mention for Original Poem

Louis Lee, a first-year biomedical engineering student at Purdue University in Indianapolis, received an honorable mention in the Spring 2025 Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts Contest. This semester’s theme was “Dreams.”

Louis submitted a poem titled “The Engineer of Dreams,” which explores dreams as a metaphysical landscape shaped by fragments of daily life and reflections from the subconscious. He wrote the piece while enrolled in Professor Tulin Tosun’s SCLA 101 course (Transformative Texts I), part of Purdue’s Cornerstone program.

His poem has been submitted for publication in the Cornerstone Review, the program’s official journal.

This year’s contest drew more than 180 submissions from students in SCLA 101 and 102 courses across Purdue.
