Juan Mesa receives Certificate of Excellence in Research Award

Mesa presented a poster on “Automated Opioid Overdose Response: A Wearable Device Approach.”

Juan Mesa was selected as a winner of the Certificate of Excellence in Research Award from the Office of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs.

Mesa presented a poster on “Automated Opioid Overdose Response: A Wearable Device Approach.” His research focuses on a wrist-worn wearable device that will release naloxone when detecting a hypoxic event.

Each poster presented is judged by select Purdue faculty and administrators who consider the interdisciplinary nature of the project and the student’s ability to communicate their research to a lay audience.

Each spring semester, the Office of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs (OIGP) hosts a reception in celebration of interdisciplinary graduate student research.
