Riggins wins Black Graduate Student Association Social Justice/Humanitarian Scholarship Award

Ti'Air Riggins, a PhD student in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, received the Purdue University Black Graduate Student Association Social Justice/Humanitarian Scholarship Award in May. The honoree of this award is a graduate or professional student who has demonstrated compassion, courage, and leadership in a volunteer role to promote tolerance at Purdue University.

Riggins won the award for her work as Miss Indiana US 2015, as a speaker for the Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network (RAINN) Speaker Bureau, and for her advocacy on Glamour and Crime Watch Daily. Riggins will be a peer educator for Purdue’s Center for Advocacy, Response, & Education (CARE).
