Colbert wins Purdue's 3MT People's Choice Award

Ashlee Colbert, a graduate student in Purdue's Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, won the People's Choice Award in Purdue's Three Minute Thesis competition. She joined five other graduate students who took top honors in two Purdue contests that demand brevity and quality of expression.

Purdue startups join MassChallenge accelerator, opportunity to secure additional funding

Incas Diagnostics, LLC, a Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering startup, is one of two Purdue student startups that will participate in the entry second round of 2018's MassChallenge Boston, a commercialization accelerator active from June to October, thanks to a partnership between Purdue's Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship and MassChallenge. Spiro Therapeutics, LLC will also participate.

Electrode shape improves neurostimulation for small targets

A cross-like shape helps the electrodes of implantable neurostimulation devices to deliver more charge to specific areas of the nervous system, possibly prolonging device life span, says research published in March in Nature Scientific Reports.

Weldon School student named Purdue’s ‘Outstanding Graduating Senior Man’

Purdue Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering senior Daniel Romary has received the prestigious 2018 G.A. Ross Award. This award acknowledges Romary's high academic achievements, outstanding leadership, strength in character, and overall contributions to Purdue. Named for a 1916 alumnus, the award is given annually to Purdue’s outstanding graduating senior man.

Kinzer-Ursem wins NSF CAREER Award

Tamara Kinzer-Ursem, an assistant professor in Purdue University’s Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, has received an NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award, one of the most prestigious NSF honors for outstanding young researchers in science and engineering.
