Cheng's research among 2015's top technical advances

Research by a Purdue professor was chosen as one of 2015's top technical advances by The Scientist magazine. The research was performed by Ji-Xin Cheng, a professor in Purdue's Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and Department of Chemistry and scientific director of the Label-free Imaging lab at Purdue's Discovery Park.

A team led by Cheng demonstrated a new type of imaging system that reveals the chemical composition of living tissue for medical diagnostics and cellular studies. A research paper about the work was published in October in the journal Science Advances, and it was featured in a Purdue news release.
