The 12th Semi-Annual Senior Design Presentations and Demonstrations were held on Friday, May 4th, to a capacity crowd.

Seven senior design teams presented their unique healthcare and clinically inspired projects to a full-to-capacity classroom in the Martin Jischke Hall of Biomedical Engineering. This year's topics included:

  • Hematopoietic cell culture using a three-dimensional bioreactor
  • Biodegradable anti-scar adhesive bandage
  • Anterior cruciate ligament scaffold
  • Biodegradable smart stent
  • Protective planning and scheduling intervention for diabetic care
  • Predicting and mitigating infectious disease spread
  • A tissue engineered cardiac patch

This year's course instructor was Professor Sherry Voytik-Harbin.
