The article, entitled "Dr. Leslie A. Geddes 1921–2009: A Pioneer in Cardiovascular Engineering," appeared in the Volume 1, Number 1, March 2010 issue.

Dr. Roeder received her PhD under the tutelage of Dr. Geddes, and continued working with him on research and teaching projects until his death last October. Cindy Ferguson worked very closely with Dr. Geddes as his support staff, and still continues in her position in the academic programs office of the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. They decided to co-author the tribute article when contacted about submitting an article on cardiovascular engineering research to the new journal.
