Sullivan Chosen to Represent Purdue for Midwest Distinguished Thesis Award

Jenna Sullivan, a 2009 graduate of the Weldon School MS program, was selected as the Purdue University College of Engineering's nominee for the 2010 Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) Distinguished MS Thesis Award. The title of her thesis was "Small Animal PET for the Detection of Alcohol- or Cocaine-Induced Striatal Dopamine Release."

BME Teams Take Top Honors in Business Plan Competition

Glytrix, a student-led company that has developed a platform technology for tissue healing and regeneration that also minimizes scarring, took top honors in the Gold Division of the 23rd annual Burton D. Morgan Business Plan Competition.

This Fall, Maia Donahue was awarded an Honorable Mention Graduate Student Research Award at the 2009 Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting held in Pittsburgh.

Zanartu Awarded Best Student Paper Award

Matias Zanartu received the Best Student Paper Award in Speech Communication at the Acoustical Society of America Meeting in Portland for the poster entitled "An impedance-based inverse filtering scheme with glottal coupling."

Weldon Researchers Collaborate to Benefit Parkinson's Patients

Kirk Foster and Jim Jones, veterans of the Weldon research staff, as well as Professor George Wodicka and graduate students Matias Zanartu and Julio Ho have successfully collaborated with Jessica Huber, Associate Professor of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Purdue to make an impact in speech therapy for Parkinson's patients.
