Those who know Dr. Geddes will understand the difficulty in planning a surprise for him, but somehow the BME staff, led by David Lasater and Cindy Ferguson, managed it.

A cake, punch, coffee, balloons, and a rousing redition of "Happy Birthday" greeted Dr. Geddes as he entered the Fu Room of the Potter Building, where old friends, current staff, and students waited. He also received a congratulatory phone call from his good friend and research collaborator, Bill Cook.

We are already planning for next year's birthday celebration - in the new Biomedical Engineering Building.
