Lauren Brown Wins First Prize in SURF Poster Competition

Lauren Brown, an IE undergraduate student working with Professor Karen Haberstroh and Julie Martin, won first prize in the SURF poster competition, held on August 2, 2004.

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program enables undergraduate students to work side-by-side with faculty and graduate students in the research lab. Lauren's work focussed on the effects of sustained hydrostatic pressure on kidney cells, with the goal of providing information to aid in the development of methods to assess damage due to kidney disease.
