He earned his Ph.D. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Purdue University before establishing himself as a leading authority in manufacturing technology. His work has driven innovation in machining processes, cutting tool advancements, and biomedical device development, significantly improving manufacturing efficiency and precision, particularly for aerospace components.
Beyond research, Albert is a dedicated educator and mentor, shaping future engineers as a professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan. He has introduced pioneering courses in manufacturing and biomedical design, fostering interdisciplinary learning and guiding numerous graduate students and postdoctoral researchers into successful careers.
Recognized globally for his contributions, Albert has received prestigious honors, including the ASME William T. Ennor Manufacturing Technology Award, the SME Frederick Taylor Research Medal, and a Fulbright Scholarship.
