Szolwinski started his career on the engineering faculty of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute before moving to Pratt & Whitney and then GE Aviation, where he’s worked since 2005.

Szolwinski has supported a variety of commercial and military products, across the product lifecycle, leading the certification effort for the GEnx power plant for Boeing’s 787, and the technology maturation and the design effort for the GE9X engine for Boeing’s 777X.

He now serves as the Chief Engineer and executive engineering leader for GE Aviation’s large-combat products.

Szolwinski is a three-time Purdue graduate, earning AAE BS, MS and Ph.D degrees in ‘93, ‘95 and ‘98. He is also a recipient of the ASME International Marshall B. Peterson award.
