- Colloidal silica is a skin irritant and gloves are recommended
- Avoid inhalation of dry silica powder
Training and Lab Requirements
User Requirements
- Valid iLab account (scheduling only, not billed)
- Subscription to the equipment listserv (mailing list) is required before access will be granted
- Training by department lab staff/superuser
Specimen and Equipment Requirements
- Compatible with 1" and 1.25" diameter mounts (3 specimen holders for each)
- Flat, unmounted samples can be polished with some modificiations to the mounting procedure
