MSE Professor, Kendra Erk, is the recipient of the 2023 Purdue Presidential Safety Award! This award is presented to individuals or groups who have made significant accomplishment in improving safety at the University. Professor Erk has made a number of strides to keep MSE safe, including, streamlined communication of safety issues, implementing an all-school safety survey and townhall event, generating a bi-monthly MSE Safety & Equipment Newsletter and encouraging student and staff-led safety initiatives such as a safety bulletin board, scenario-based training events, and the adoption of emergency code words.
