Juanjuan Lu has successfully completed her PhD under the advisement of Professor Haiyan Wang! Her research focused on the modulation of nanostructure morphology and physical performance of oxide-metal vertically aligned nanocomposite (VAN) thin film systems as hybrid metamaterial platforms for plasmonic and magnetic devices. Multiple approaches including tailoring pulsed laser deposition parameters,  substrate surface treatment, and strain engineering have been explored. And the nanostructure evolution mechanisms, as well as the corresponding structure-property relationships in VANs were investigated, demonstrating these systems as promising candidates for optical metamaterial applications. Dr. Lu has accepted a postdoc position working with Professor Wang.
