Congratulations to Sotoudeh Sedaghat who has successfully completed her PhD under the advisement of Professor Rahim Rahimi! During her research, she employed laser-assisted selective processing techniques on metal surfaces to create multifunctional devices. She investigated three pathways: using laser-induced oxides to develop sensors, laser-assisted removal of metallic coatings from temperature-sensitive substrates for wearable electronics, and producing intermetallic nanotexturing mixtures for modifying orthopedic implants. Her PhD program resulted in over 20 journal papers and conference presentations, and she now works as a Senior R&D Chemist at AquaSpy Inc.
