Cheers to Sanjoy Mazumder who has successfully completed his PhD under the guidance of Professor Anter El-Azab! His research focused on understanding the evolution of irradiation defects in oxide and metallic nuclear fuels using a rate theory based mean-field cluster dynamics approach and atomistic simulations. The predicted density and spatial distribution of such defects are essential to investigate the degradation of physical and mechanical properties of irradiated nuclear fuels during reactor operation conditions. Dr. Mazumder has accepted a research associate position with Idaho National Laboratory.
