Master of Science in Materials Engineering
The MS program is designed to guide the student to expand his/her knowledge base in the field of Materials Engineering through course work, self-study, and to encourage development analytical and/or experimental skills through a research and design experience. MS students wishing to obtain an MS on the way to PhD should apply directly to the PhD program. MS seeking students funded by industry, governments, or self-supported are encouraged to apply. Options of thesis or non-thesis are open, depending on the student's professional goals. The thesis option requires 18 semester credit hours (six courses) plus an acceptable thesis, and the non-thesis option requires 30 semester credits of course work, six of which must be earned through project oriented study.
