James H. and Barbara H. Greene Professor Juan Wachs recently served as General Chair of the 2026 Computer Vision Conference (CVC) in Amsterdam, where he also delivered a keynote presentation titled Bridging the Algorithm Abyss: Surgical Intelligence, Computer Vision & AI in Medicine.

The Purdue MARS Lab, headed by Assistant Professor Yu She, along with its collaborators, had 10 papers accepted to the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS). As one of the largest and most influential robotics research conferences worldwide, IROS 2026 had a paper acceptance rate of 36% in 2026, indicating a highly competitive selection process.

Carson Castle and Camden Kilroy, students in the Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering, receive multiple honors for building an autonomous table tennis robot. It holds the capability to play matches against human players, control ball spin, keep score: all while having the flexibility to attach to various tennis tables.

After months of campaigning, Casey Williams has been elected to serve his term as National Chairperson of the National Society of Black Engineers.

This semester, 36 Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering teams participated in capstone projects through the IE431 Senior Design course. The teams recently presented their posters at the Capstone Poster Session.
