Yuehwern Yih named 2026 INFORMS Fellow

Yuehwern Yih, Tompkins Distinguished Professor in Purdue University's Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering, has been selected as a 2026 Fellow of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). She is one of 12 leaders named to this year's class.
 
Yih is being recognized for “pioneering contributions to healthcare engineering and humanitarian logistics and advancing the deployment of operations research in complex real-world environments with global societal impacts.”
 
The selection adds to a series of recent honors for Yih. In 2025, she was elected to the National Academy of Engineering, named a Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors and received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Chinese Institute of Engineers–USA. In 2024, she became the first woman to receive the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers’ David F. Baker Distinguished Research Award.
