IE's Juan Wachs leads burn treatment collaboration, team awarded $1.9M grant from DoD.

Investigators from Purdue's School of Industrial Engineering, Department of Computer Science, and Department of Statistics are working with experts from both the US Army Burn Center and the Fairbanks Burn Center in Indianapolis to develop an automated burn diagnosis system using AI that will diagnose and treat burn victims with superhuman performance.

Purdue Collaboration Awarded NSF Grant

The National Science Foundation has awarded a team comprised of Purdue professors and a Penn State professor, also an alumnus of Purdue's Statistics Department, a grant for their work in reinforcement learning (RL).

IE's Kenley named INCOSE Chair

Industrial engineering professor C. Robert Kenley was recently elected INCOSE Chair by the INCOSE Fellows. The INCOSE Board of Directors has ratified the election, and Kenley will serve as the Chair of the INCOSE Fellows for a 2-year term beginning December 1, 2022.
