The evaluation committee cited Wu's outstanding publication record, as well as his eleven issued patents in their award announcement.

Sensors also stated that Wu "is clearly a rising star in the field of nanotechnology-enabled sensors." The award comes with a certificate as well as an honorarium.

This is the latest award in a string of many for Wu this year, as he has been awarded the Early Career Research Award by the Purdue University College of Engineering, the Young Scientist Award from Microsystems & Nanoengineering (MINE), to name a couple.  Wu has also been invited to a variety of prominent conferences and symposiums.
