Math

  • MA 26100 is Multivariate Calculus. Its pre-requisites include MA 16500 or MA 16600.
  • MA 26600 is Ordinary Differential Equations. Its pre-requisite is MA 26100.
  • MA 26500 is Linear Algebra. Its pre-requisite is MA 26100.
  • MA 26200 is Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. It may be taken in place of MA 266 and MA 265. Students must additionally take an advanced math selective.

Core

Core classes are split up into four areas including Data Science, Fundamentals, Labs, and Programming.

Data Science

  • ECE 20875 is Python for Data Science. Its pre-requisite is CS 15900.
  • ECE 30200 Is Probalistic Methods in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Its co-requisite is ECE 301.

Fundamentals

  • ECE 20001 is Electrical Engineering Fundamentals 1. Its co-requisite is MA 261. Its pre-requisites are Intro to Engineering, PHYS 17200, and Calculus 2.
  • ECE 20002 is Electrical Engineering Fundamentals 2. Its co-requisite is MA 266 or 262. Its pre-requisite is ECE 20001 and requires a C or higher.
  • ECE 30100 is Signals and Systems. Its pre-requisites are MA 266 or 262 and ECE 20002, which requires a C or higher. 
  • ECE 36900 and 20869 are both discrete mathematics. Its co-requisite is either ECE 26400 or 20875.
  • Senior Design Part 1. All but one 300 level core must be complete to begin senior design.
  • Senior Design Part 2. Its pre-requisite is Senior Design Part 1.

Labs

  • ECE 20007 is Electrical Engineering Fundamentals Lab 1. Its co-requisite is ECE 20001.
  • ECE 27000 is Intro to Digital System Design. Its co-requisite is ECE 20001.
  • ECE 36200 is Microprocessor Systems and Interfacing. Its pre-requisites are ECE 26400 and ECE 27000. ECE 27000 requires a C or higher. 

Programming

  • ECE 26400 is Advanced C programming. Its pre-requisite is CS 15900.
  • ECE 36800 is Data Structures. Its pre-requisite is ECE 26400 and requires a C or higher. 

Other

Other classes include miscellaneous requirements for computer engineering. 

Computer Engineering Selectives

  • Computer Engineering Students are required to take 16 credits of computer engineering selectives. A maximum of 6 special content credits can count for this requirement. The Software Engineering concentration requires 10 credits.
  • ECE 30864, Software Engineering Tools, and ECE 30861, Software Engineering are required computer engineering selectives for the Software Engineering Concentration.
  • ECE 50874, Advanced Software Engineering, or an approved Open-Source Software Senior Design project are required to complete the software selective requirement.
  • One additional selective of 3 credits is required to complete the concentration.

Seminars

Three seminar classes are required for computer engineering. 

  • ECE 29401 is Electrical and Computer Engineering Sophomore Seminar. Students must be in an ECE major to take this course.
  • ECE 39401 is Communication and Collaboration. Its pre-requisite is ECE 29401.
  • ECE 49401 is Professional Communication Capstone. Its pre-requisite is ECE 29401.
