The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Pittsburgh (http://www.engr.pitt.edu/electrical) anticipates interviewing candidates for a tenure-stream (TS) position at the assistant professor level. The anticipated start date is September 2016.
This position is targeted to candidates in electronic/photonic experimental device research capable of application in ECE focus areas of nanotechnology, energy, wireless, or biomedical research. Successful candidates must have the ability to establish and maintain a high-impact research program and must be committed to high quality teaching for a diverse student body at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The University has a well-established user facility for nanoscale fabrication and characterization, housing state-of-the-aii equipment with core nano-level capacity in a cleanroom environment (PINSE/NFCF: http://www.nano.pitt.edu).
ECE currently has 25 full time faculty members with approximately 400 undergraduate and 170 graduate students. The department offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. ECE is strongly committed to a diverse academic environment and places high priority on attracting female and minority candidates.
