Position: Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2018. Specialization in the area of Control Systems. Record of or demonstrated potential for teaching at the college level, successful research, scholarly and creative activities. Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level. Experience in teaching courses in the area of Control Systems. Demonstrated ability and clear plans for the development of research programs in Control Systems or related fields. Demonstrated ability to supervise student projects; develop programs and curriculum; supervise student theses; and actively participate in academic governance.

Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in or related to Control Systems, as well as fundamental undergraduate courses in Electrical Engineering. Develop curriculum, supervise graduate student theses. Responsible for developing a research program which complements and enhances ongoing research activities in Electrical Engineering and leads to publications and external funding. Engage in service to the department, college, university and community as appropriate.

A background check (including a criminal records check and telephone reference check with most recent employer) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
