Stanford EE junior faculty opening

Position Type: Faculty
Priority: No
Degree Requirement: PhD, Post Doctorate
Dear colleagues,

We are initiating a broad area search for an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (untenured) in the Electrical Engineering Department here at Stanford. The department is especially interested in candidates in multidisciplinary areas such as embedded systems and neuroengineering, and whose research addresses major societal problems.
Priority, however, will be given to the overall originality and promise of the candidate's work over any specific area of specialization.

We would appreciate any recommendations that you may have of outstanding persons who may be potential candidates for this tenure-track position.
Given the serious commitment Stanford has to the diversity of its faculty in strengthening the quality of its academic programs, we particularly welcome recommendations of women and members of ethnic groups underrepresented in academic engineering, as well as others who would bring additional dimensions to the university's research and teaching missions.

A detailed description of our search profile is attached as a pdf file.
I would be pleased to receive your recommendations and any comments you may wish to provide by email at search@ee.stanford.edu.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely,

Abbas El Gamal
Chair, Department of Electrical Engineering Stanford University
