PLaCE's English Boost registration is OPEN!
(previously called Short Courses & Workshops)
We're excited to invite all international students to participate in English Boost in Spring 2026. English Boost is a free instructional program at Purdue offered by PLaCE designed to help international students and scholars improve their English language and communication skills.
What We Offer in English Boost (see attachments for more info).
- 1:1 Language Coaching – Personalized sessions tailored to students’ individual needs and goals.

Conversation Clubs – Fun, social opportunities to practice English while exploring campus culture.

Conversation Clubs and 1:1 Language Coaching are open all semester through Quiet Week, April 27-May 1, and students may register at any time.

Short Courses & Workshops – Focused skill-building in speaking, writing, pronunciation, and more.

The Short Courses and Workshops registration is open for the entirety of our 8 week session this spring. Students may register for each class separately but can make it a “recurring appointment” if they know they will be able to attend each week. They will get the most out of the course if they attend as many as possible. Classes will conclude right before Spring Break ending in the week of March 9-13.
