Please share the following information and attached Call for Applications with PhD students conducting research in computer science and related computational fields (all departments are eligible if students are conducting aligned research). This fellowship has a very tight timeline this year, so please share as soon as possible!
 
Purdue may nominate up to four students for the Google PhD Fellowship, which supports outstanding PhD research in computer science and related areas. Applications for Purdue’s internal nomination are due Sunday, March 29 at 11:59 PM ET.
 
Benefits
  • $85,000 per year for up to two years to be used towards tuition, fees, stipend, travel, and personal equipment
Eligibility
  • PhD students conducting research in computer science or related computational fields
  • Must complete graduate coursework by Fall 2026 and remain enrolled full-time during the fellowship. Research credits are permitted beyond Fall 2026.
  • Research must align with one or more of Google’s research areas of focus and Google AI principles
  • Students supported by a comparable industry fellowship are not eligible (government, university, or non-profit funding is allowed)

  • See the Call for Applications for additional details. Selected nominees will have approximately two weeks (April 14-April 28) to prepare final materials and secure 1-2 additional letters of recommendation for the external submission.
