Sessions on:
  • Academic careers: Explore the role of a professor through presentations, panel discussions, and conversations with faculty, department chairs and deans.
  • Faculty applications: Learn how to navigate the application process, negotiate offers and secure a competitive startup package.
  • Faculty experience: Gain insight into preparing for your first year as a faculty member and understanding the promotion and tenure process.
  • Research & mentorship: Discover how to build a successful research program and effectively mentor students at a research-intensive institution.
  • Balancing responsibilities: Learn strategies for managing teaching, research and service while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
  • Collaborations: Understand how to establish and foster successful collaborations at a top research university.
  • Present your research: Receive valuable insights and constructive feedback through formative presentations of your own research.

"One of the most important takeaways was learning how to negotiate your startup package and understanding the tenure process. The program left me more excited about pursuing a faculty career."
