Postdoctoral Position on “Nonconvex Optimization for Collaborative Machine Learning”
Description: MINDS Group in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University is looking for a post-doctoral scholar on Nonconvex Optimization for Collaborative Machine Learning. The ongoing research projects include:
- Algorithms for distributed machine learning systems such as federated learning
- Submodular information-management in collaborative learning systems
- Optimization algorithms for distributed reinforcement learning
Qualifications: Candidates should have a solid track record of publications in at least one of the following areas: submodular optimization, decentralized stochastic optimization, and optimization for reinforcement learning. All applicants must have strong mathematical and programming skills. Candidates may have backgrounds in disciplines including electrical and computer engineering, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, industrial engineering, and related areas.
Position: The position is available immediately for a period of one year, and dependent upon funding availability and performance. It may be extended for an additional year.
