Faculty Position Openings at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities invites applications for two faculty positions: one in the area of Computer Engineering (particularly relevant are the fields of quantum- or quantum-inspired computing), and one in Communications, Networking, and Data Science.
Successful candidates will have outstanding academic and research records and are expected to establish a vigorous, funded research program, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and be involved in service to the university and the profession. An earned doctorate in an appropriate discipline is required at the time of appointment. It is anticipated that these appointments will begin Fall 2022. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is fully committed to a culturally and academically diverse faculty; candidates who will further expand that diversity are particularly encouraged to apply.
These positions are tenure-track faculty positions; rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Collaborate in research and development in hardware design and algorithms of emerging computing platforms. Particularly relevant are the fields of quantum- or quantum-inspired computing. Be responsible for advising students regarding specific coursework and broader academic or career goals. Develop and teach courses in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Develop research proposals for external funding opportunities, and collaborating with researchers from industry on joint research projects. Engage in research and publication, and scientific creation. Provide service through participation in governance of the department and/or the University. Contribute to the development of the profession, keep current with the field and broaden knowledge and expertise. Contribute to outreach activities that support the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering mission.
