Title: Senior Power Electronics Control System Engineer - 77929 
Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position 
 
This position may be located in Fargo, ND (preferred) or Cary, NC per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.
 
Your Responsibilities
 
As a Senior Power Electronics Control System Engineer for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group Electrification team, you will,
  • Lead electrification organization modeling and simulation infrastructure and roadmap planning
  • Conduct advanced eDrive component, subsystem, and vehicle system simulation to support control features development and vehicle performance assessment 
  • Interface with stakeholders to develop control system requirements that support vehicle electrification solutions. Mentor other control and software developers in modeling and simulation best practices.
  • Develop advanced electric drive controls solutions at both component and system levels for a broad range of applications
  • Validate and deliver controls software through code development, HIL validation, dyno testing, and field integration support

What Skills You Need
  • 5 or more years of working experience for vehicle subsystem controls including electrical, hydraulic, drivetrain, engine, embedded solutions, etc.
  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience for vehicle system modeling, simulation, and performance analysis
  • Solid background in electric drive control system and Hardware-In-the-Loop testing
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Ability and willingness to travel up 25%
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Expertise with Dynamometer System Modeling 
  • Expertise with Matlab/Simulink/SimScape tools
  • Expertise with repo management tools like GitHub/SVN, etc.
  • Experience with vehicle performance validation
  • Experience with Rapid Prototyping and Hardware-in-Loop system
  • Experience with embedded control system
  • Experience with hybrid electric vehicle applications
  • Advanced degree with a focus on power electronics and/or control system
  • Experience with inverter/converter control, vehicle system integration control development
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
