Spring 2021 course: ME 578 Digital Control
Spring 2021 course: ME 578 Digital Control
I'm looking for anyone else interested in taking ME578, Digital Control in the spring. This is a follow up to ME575, Theory and Design of Control Systems. Right now there are a LOT of students in ME575, and I know several of us have been planning on taking ME578 in the spring. In order to make this happen there has to be a minimum number of interested students. We are currently very close to that, and I suspect there are more students that are just unaware that ME578 was originally going to be offered in the spring.
Personally, I'm interested in this class because the description suggests that it brings me much closer to practical application for my job. It discusses sensor and actuator integration to digital control, control methods for continuous and discrete time systems, LQ optimal control, and a bunch of other topics. These are all things that engineers I work with use and that I want to learn more about.
On the schedule it's not intended to be offered online again for several years, so for some people this may be your only opportunity. If you have any interest or know someone who does, please reach out to the ME grad office and let them know you're interested in taking ME578 online in the spring.
The spring 2020 syllabus is attached as reference.
Thanks,
