Position Type: 0.25 FTE (10 hours/week) available for fall 2020 and a possibility to renew as 0.50 FTE (20 hours/week) graduate assistantship with a competitive stipend, fee remission, and health insurance.
 
Position Description:
Graduate assistants (GAs) are an integral part of the Engineering Undergraduate Research Office (EURO) and they work together as a team to provide administrative support to the programs including Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF). GA will perform tasks associated with the management of student application system, correspondence with faculty, students and staff. GA will contribute to data management, data analysis and reporting.
 
Required:
  • Currently enrolled Ph.D. student in good standing
  • Optimization mindset 
  • Project management skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and database management 
  • Experience carrying out qualitative and quantitative analyses 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn COGNOS/Banner/ Qualtrics/ Web application tools
  • Initiative, creativity, flexibility, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
  • Manage application tracking system
  • Troubleshoot 
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the leadership team to develop new programs
  • Query data, prepare reports, document participation metrics and develop reporting tools
  • Engage in scholarly activities (write and publish research articles related to undergraduate research)
  • Other duties as assigned by the leadership team
