School of Chemical Engineering launched five new concentrations in a Professional Master’s Program to begin with the Fall 2015 semester.

The Professional Master’s Program is a full time, non-thesis, 12-month program on the West Lafayette campus with concentrations in: Biochemical Engineering, Energy Systems Fundamentals & Processes, Kinetics, Catalysis & Reaction Engineering, Particulate Products & Processes, and Pharmaceutical Engineering.

The program provides advanced technical education combined with development of professional management skills in key areas of chemical engineering that are related to industry sectors of regional, national and international importance. Most courses are offered in Chemical Engineering, but there also are a wide variety of electives in related discipline areas such as Industrial & Physical Pharmacy and Biomedical Engineering.

As part of elective courses, students can undertake independent research in world-class laboratories during the summer. They also have the opportunity to take management, finance, marketing and operations courses through Krannert. This enables them to be successful in management roles, in addition to engineering.

The School anticipates that the program will attract a vibrant cohort of qualified students, given our strong ChE reputation and an increasingly critical need for specialized knowledge. Graduates of the program receive a Master in Chemical Engineering degree.
