Graduate Student Organization Recognizes Outstanding Students during the 18th Graduate Research Symposium

Several Students were recognized with awards on August 20th during the Graduate Research Symposium.

 

The winner of 2009 GSO poster competition is Poster 17 “Catalytic Oxidation of Glycerol to High-Value Chemicals” presented by Wenbin Hu, PhD. Student, and Prof. Varma.
There were two runner-ups: Poster 37 “Protein-based Scaffolds for Cartilage Repair: Exploring Control over Stem Cell Differentiation”, presented by Julie Kadrmas, PhD. Student,  and Prof. Liu, and Poster 32 “Quantum Wire Solar Cells” presented by Robert McCarthy, PhD. Student, and Prof. Hillhouse.
The oral presentation winners are:
1st place: Intan Hamdan, PhD student (advisors G. V. Reklaitis and V. Venkatasubramanian), for the presentation titled“Exceptional Events Management for Continuous Pharmaceutical Manufacturing”
2nd place: Mahaprasad Kar, PhD student (advisors H. W. Hillhouse and R. Agrawal), for the presentation titled “Mechanism of Formation of CISe Nanocrystals and Chemical Liquid Deposition of CISe Thin Films for Low-Cost Flexible Solar Cells”
3rd place: Rugved Pathare, PhD student (advisor R. Agrawal), for the presentation titled “Optimal Membrane Separation Cascades for Moderate Permselectivity Applications”
