Why I chose Purdue?
I chose Purdue because it is a great engineering school and companies across the nation know about Purdue Engineering. Outside of Indiana, Purdue has an outstanding reputation and people are impressed when they hear the name.

Why I chose Engineering and BME?
I chose engineering because I wanted to challenge myself and I also like designing and improving processes or objects. I chose BME because I wanted to something in the healthcare system. I want to be able to see a direct impact from my work that will improve patients’ lives. My freshman year, I asked upperclassmen about the different majors for engineering. I found out that BME was one of the most challenging, so I decided that it would be a good fit for what I wanted to accomplish with my goals in college.

Extra-curricular activities:
Phi Kappa Psi Academic Head; Phi Kappa Psi Fundraising Chair for Philanthropy; EPICS (CFO and co-Project Leader); Boiler Blast; FYESAC; BMES; Purdue Engineering Outreach; Share Foundation

Engineering-related experience/CO-OP/Intern/Research
I worked at Eli Lilly for the summer of 2013 and had a great experience there. I used the skills I learned in class and lab to design test methods and perform testing on delivery devices for insulin. I also learned a lot about industry compared to academia for life after college.

Post-graduation plans
My plans for after graduation are to work for a year for some company. After the year, I will return to grad school and obtain my Master’s in Biomedical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. After my obtaining my Master’s, I will most likely work in industry for some pharmaceutical company.
