Senior Design

For the first time, all senior design projects are sponsored by industry, giving EEE seniors an industrial experience solving real problems.

This year senior design welcomes Mrs. Whelton onto the design staff. Her industrial experience gives students a valuable resource and support while working with the project clients. Projects this year are focused on working with a company to accomplish a specific objective. Two projects deal with researching and developing innovative techniques for phosphorus removal and recovery by working with private company in West Lafayette and the West Lafayette Waste Treatment Plant.  Shrewsberry & Associates and CHA are working with two more design teams to tackle combined sewage overflow.  Energy efficiency is the last project theme with a focus on efficient heating and cooling systems for the Mollenkopf Building on the Purdue campus and office space design improvements at the Utility Plant Office Facility. The General Motors design team is also focusing on energy efficiency through analysis of industrial facility improvements at the Fort Wayne GM plant.
