What is Mathematica?

Mathematica is a single system to handle mathematical problems. Mathematica is a product of Wolfram Research. The latest version of Mathematica is 5.2. If you have ever used any of the older versions on Mathematica, you should be impressed with the several new features of Mathematica 5.2.

In short:

1) Mathematica 5.2 brings new functionality and enhanced connectivity to Java, XML, and the web.
2) It offers new and updated features for linear programming, statistics, optimization,
combinatorics, and graph theory.
For a complete list of all the new features, refer to the New Features of Mathematica 5.2 on the Wolfram Research site.
