Outlook: Unable to Log In To Exchange

If you are having trouble logging in to Exchange through Outlook, or if your user name is no longer in the User name drop-down box, please try the following steps.

1. Open Outlook. When prompted to log in, type "onepurdue\username" in the User name blank where "username" is your Purdue logon id.  Type your password in the Password blank. If you have the option, check Remember my password. Click OK.

Note: This will not save your password, but will save your user name in the drop-down box. If you do NOT have the option to Remember my password, please continue to step 2. Otherwise, your User name should now be saved in the drop-down box.

2. Once logged in, select the Tools menu and click on Account Settings.  Select your Exchange account and click Change.
    
3. Click More Settings… and select the Security tab.  Uncheck Always prompt for user name and password.  Click Apply and then OK.

4. Exit Outlook, then open it again.  When logging in this time, you should be able to select Remember my password.

5. Enter the same "onepurdue\username" that you entered previously. Type your password and select Remember my password and click OK.

6. Once logged in, select the Tools menu and click on Account Settings.  Select your Exchange account and click Change.
    
7. Click More Settings… and select the Security tab.  Check the Always prompt for user name and password box.  Click Apply and then OK.

8. Exit Outlook, then open it again.  When logging in this time, you should be able to select your user name from the drop-down box.
