SSL Negotiation Failed - How to Fix

Full Description: SSL Negotiation Failed: Certification Error: Cert Chain not trusted. Try
adding this certificate database for SSL to succeed Certificate Error:
Unknown and unprovided root certificate. Cause: (-6995)

Cause:
The ECN email certificate has not been accepted as a trusted certificate
by the current Eudora 5.2 personality.

Solution:
You must apply this solution to each personality that you are using.
1) Select the Tools menu and click the personalities option.

2) In the personality window right click the desired personality
and click properties.

3) Click the Incoming Mail Tab.

4) Click the "Last SSL Info" button near the bottom of the
Account settings dialog. If you get an error stating
"You have not received mail using an SSL connection.",
you must first setup Eudora to send an receive mail. Then,
attempt to retrieve email from the server.



5) You should now see the "SSL Connection Information Manager".
Click the Certificate Information Manager near the
bottom of the dialog.



6) You should now have a display of certificates.
Under Server Certificates, you will see a list of
Server certificates, User trusted Certificates, and
Eudora Provided Trusted Certificates. Under server
certificates, select the Purdue.edu certificate. You
may see a skull and cross bones next to this certificate.
This indicates that you have not yet made this a trusted
certificate. Select this certificate and click the
"Add to Trusted" button. The certificate will now
appear as a User Trusted Certificate.



7) Click Done to close the Certificate Information Manager.

8) Click OK to close the "Eudora SSL Connection Information
Manager"

9) Click OK to close "Account Settings".

10) Repeat this procedure for each personality you use.
