Roaming Profiles on WTS

Subject: Roaming Profiles on WTS

If you wish to enable a roaming profile specifically for use with WTS for reasons discussed in the last few NT meetings, follow these steps:

1) Logon to WTS
2) Start User Manager for Domains
3) Select the account or accounts to modify
4) Click the button labeled "Profile"
5) In the field labeled "Terminal Server Profile Path", enter

     \\unix_homeserver\user_login\pchome\.pcprefs\wtsprofile

    where unix_homeserver is the name of the user's UNIX server
    and user_login is the user's login.

This will cause the user to have 1 profile for WTS and 1 profile for the domain. However, it will fix the problems of WTS overwriting registry keys relating to Microsoft Excel, etc. as discussed in the staff meetings.
