Retrieving a lost file on the unix filesystem
Use the unrm -l command, this will list the files in the "tomb" directory.
If your file is in the "tomb" directory use the unrm command to retrieve accidentally removed files.
EXAMPLE:
unrm filename
Type man unrm to get more information on this command.
If your file isn't there and it had existed for at least 24 hours before you removed it then use the flost command or web form to request that it be restored from the daily backup tapes. Please note that is a tedious process and should only be requested for important files.
Type man flost to get more information on this command.
