Printing: Checking Your ECN Print Quota
Many ECN printers are placed under page accounting to keep track of how many pages are used, and by which users. Upon printing each page, one page will automatically be added to the number of pages you have used. When printing your document on both sides of each sheet of paper (double-sided), each side of the paper still counts as one page used toward your quota.
To check your print quota use the lwinfo command:
% lwinfo msa(replacemsawith your printer's name)
The output will show how many pages you have used, how many pages you have remaining, and when your printer account expires. All printer accounts expire on a semester basis, and are updated as long as you have an active (non-expired) computer account, so don't panic if your lwinfo expiration date doesn't match your graduation date.
Once you exceed your page limit, you will no longer be able to print. To request an increase in print quota, consult your site specialist.
