Pan to VPS Migration

The print server, pan.ecn, is going to be retired soon.  The replacement servers are already online, and the listing of servers for each department can be found here. Note: For these examples, the VPS print server, vps12.ecn, will be used. Make sure you check the preceding link for your correct VPS server, or send a Trouble Report to request more information.

Instructions for adding VPS printers and removing Pan printers:

Windows 7 Instructions

1. Click Start, then set the cursor on "Search programs and files".  
   
2. Type in the server name and printer name (please contact ECN if you need to know the printer name) and press Enter.
   
3. You will see a new window like this:
   
4. After the printer is successfully connected, you can set it as your default printer, if you wish. To do so, click Start->Devices and Printers:
   
5. Right-click the printer which you would like to have as your default, and then click "Set as default printer".
   
6. While you have the Devices and Printers window open, make sure you remove an pan.ecn printers. It will say (name of printer) on pan. Right-click on each of those printers on pan, and click Remove device.
    

Windows XP Instructions

1. Click Start, then Run
   
2. Type in the server name and printer name (please contact ECN if you need to know the printer name) and press Enter.
   
3. After the printer is successfully connected, you can set it as your default printer, if you wish. To do so, click Start-> Settings-> Printers and Faxes:
   
4. Right-click the printer which you would like to have as your default, and then click "Set as default printer".
   
5. While you have the Printers and Faxes window open, make sure you remove an pan.ecn printers. It will say (name of printer) on pan. Right-click on each of those printers on pan, and click Remove device.
